Ruby is Well trained with lots of buttons: side passes, pivots front and back, side passes to the mounting block, stands untied for saddling/unsaddling, follows and does obstacle course under saddle and at liberty.

Trainer stands on her back and cracks a bullwhip, slide dismounts off her back, trots her over a huge teeter totter, and walks through a curtain of streamers (videos available).

Confident, brave, and very trusting of rider’s directions.

Great on trails, usually rides with others but has never acted out when ridden alone.

Ruby is very versatile and very easy to train. She’s been ground driven and harnessed and could easily be finished as a driving horse. Her trainer refers to her as “good minded” and believes she has show horse potential.

Ruby tackles any obstacle with curiosity. She typically masters a new obstacle on the first try (platforms, rails, plastic swimming pools, tarps, balls, etc.)

Moves around the barn, to the pasture, in and out of stalls, with no halter and a lead rope draped loosely over her neck.

Though she’s been ridden by children and was a rock star I would not recommend for a child that may lose interest or a very busy person that doesn’t have much time to interact with her. She bonds with people and wants regular interaction with her person (people), whether that’s grooming, ground work, riding, or going for a walk. She loves people!!

She’s not a slow poke and moves out easily, but if you want a leisurely stroll or slow trail ride she will oblige. Ask her for more and she’s happy to step up, spurs not needed, and she has great endurance.

Alpha mare but doesn’t want to manage the herd, just her way of letting other horses know she won’t tolerate being bossed around. Is pastured part of the day with a herd of 7 other geldings and mares, including a Clydesdale, yearling, several young horses, and a mini. She’s a great herd mate but does think she should be the first one in line when coming in for grain.

Independent, enjoys the being around other horses but is fine left in a stall alone for periods of time. Rides easily with other horses, ties and leads next to them without problems. Used to pony colts by the trainer.

Used to barking dogs, tractors, UTVs, leaf blowers, and vehicles.

Stalled at night and keeps a neat stall.

Great for the farrier. Leads, loads, and trailers with ease.

Good with baths but we usually bath her in two sessions because she can get impatient with the time it takes because of all of her hair.

Hobble trained, neck reins or direct reins, has been ridden in both western and English. She has been ridden mostly in English tack because that’s the saddle I have that fits her best. Trained in western tack.

Very heavy mane and tail. They’ve both been trimmed so she won’t step on them when grazing.

Has been kept up to date and is currently update on all vaccines. Copies can be provided.
